A Prayer to Receive the Holy Spirit

Dear Heavenly Father,

I confess that I have sinned against You, both knowingly and unknowingly. I am truly sorry for my sins and the ways in which I have fallen short of Your glory.

Lord, I believe in Your Son Jesus Christ, who came into this world, died on the cross for my sins, and was raised from the dead. I trust in His atoning sacrifice and embrace His eternal victory over sin and death. I put my faith in Jesus as my Lord and Savior.

Please forgive me of my sins as I turn away from them, and help me to live a life that is pleasing to You. I understand that I can't do this on my own, and I need Your grace and strength.

Father, I humbly ask You to fill me with Your Holy Spirit. I long for the guidance, comfort, and power that comes from Him. I desire to grow in my understanding and experience of Your Spirit’s work in my life.

May the Holy Spirit fill me, transforming my heart, guiding my steps, and empowering me to live in obedience to Your Word. Help me to bear the fruit of the Spirit, and to use the gifts of the Spirit for Your glory and the good of others.

Thank you, Father, for your forgiveness, for the gift of faith in Jesus, and for the promise of the Holy Spirit. I surrender my life to You and to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
